About us

The Victim Help Centre, North Wales is a locally commissioned support service for victims of all crime in the north Wales area. It works in partnership with North Wales Police, Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and Witness Care Unit (CPS) as well as numerous other third party agencies to bring together services to support victims.

Our aims and objectives

Funding

In May 2013 the MOJ commissioning framework was published, providing notification that commissioning local victim services will pass to PCCs at the start of financial year 2015/16.

From April 2015 the majority of emotional and practical support services for victims of crime have been commissioned locally by the Police and Crime Commissioner. As a result, current MOJ funding arrangements to Victim Support have ceased and Commissioners receive funding directly from the MOJ.

As a result, the Victim Help Centre is fully grant funded by the Police and Crime Commissioner to provide a tailored support service to victims’ of crime in north Wales.

Welsh Government also fund a Hate Crime caseworker post for a three year period to work for Victim Support.
